Hi there, I’m Gavyn. Originally from Illinois, I spent my formative years in the Madison, Wisconsin area. My academic journey led me to the University of Milwaukee, where I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. During high school and throughout my undergraduate years, I immersed myself in various treatment environments, from nursing homes to residential treatment facilities, and outpatient mental health clinics. My commitment to serve my community remained strong as I persisted in finding a setting that would fuel my passion for aiding others in their treatment journeys. Upon completing my undergraduate studies, I ventured to Chicago to delve into the world of wedding photography, a pursuit that fed my artistic soul but left me yearning for deeper human connections. This longing eventually led me and my husband to Colorado, where I embarked on my Master’s in Social Work, specializing in Animal Assisted Therapy. Here, I discovered a profound passion for integrating the healing potential of the human-animal bond into my therapeutic practice. My professional journey has been diverse, encompassing work with various populations, including adolescents diagnosed with Oppositional Defiant Disorder and those navigating disordered eating challenges. Through these experiences, I've refined my ability to address a wide spectrum of mental health concerns. Central to my approach is a belief in the power of a strengths-based perspective, recognizing and nurturing the innate resilience and resources within each individual. I strive to cultivate a safe and supportive environment where clients can freely explore their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Establishing a strong therapeutic alliance is fundamental to my practice, empowering clients to feel understood and empowered on their path to healing. When I am not in the office, you'll often find me cuddling my four fluffy animals—two cats and two dogs—or plotting my next exciting adventure.

Dr. Jessica Reyka, Psy.D., the founder and owner of Grass Roots Healing, LLC, is a firm believer that in order to reconnect and heal, we must first go back to the "root" of the problem or concern, which often stems far back into one's life, and then work towards healing from an inward-out approach. "The stronger our roots are, the more beautiful the leaves that come from the tree"; similar to the process of therapy where we rebuild the foundation from which you view the world and create a life/beliefs/behaviors that are more in alignment with your true values and authentic self. Dr. Reyka's experience involves complex trauma, attachment & relationship issues, anxiety & other mood disorders, adoption-related trauma, & rebuilding skills related to relaxation and stress management. She approaches therapy in a collaborative manner, truly connecting with her clients, listening to their needs/goals, while gently guiding them in healing. Grass Roots Healing, LLC is a safe place for LGBTQIAPK+ individuals & all ethnic and minority groups. We strive to embrace diversity within our practice and therapeutic work. We also strive to bring evidence-based interventions and holistic approaches/modalities into the therapeutic process. We are looking forward to hearing from you!

Hi! I work with individuals 18+ who are experiencing a range of stressors, like anxiety, depression, life changes, grief and loss, eco-anxiety or grief, workplace or career struggles/transitions, issues with self-esteem, and support with boundary-setting and coping skills. I help people gain insight into systems and environments that impact them, and make decisions in line with their values and goals. Authenticity, transparency, and humor are important parts of my therapeutic style. Finding a therapist can feel overwhelming at times. It can also be empowering, providing hope for the new path ahead. I truly appreciate you taking the time to learn about me and my practice. I look forward to getting the chance to learn more about you and start on a new path together!
I specialize in working with adults of all genders who are struggling with unhealthy relationship patterns, low self-esteem, family of origin or attachment wounds, identity exploration, addiction, & more.
I believe in a collaborative healing approach. Together, we identify areas of concern and develop strategies for change. I also believe in exploring the underlying causes of our struggles. My approach is varied, taking and blending techniques from a variety of sources, rather than relying on a single system of intervention. I strive to create a safe environment for my clients to explore their world in an authentic way. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with the State of Colorado. Individual Therapy - Recognizing the need for change can be exciting. The path forward is sometimes unclear, and at times, overwhelming. Together, we will develop a plan for the change you desire. Over time, this change can become long-lasting, and transformative. Couples Counseling - We all bring our personal history and experience to relationship. I believe that sharing this story with your partner in different ways can reveal a deeper level of understanding and intimacy. A new way of relating announces itself; revealing entirely new possibilities in your relationship.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 25 years experience, I fully appreciate the importance of finding the right match with a therapist who can offer a compassionate and professional approach to navigating life's challenges. I embrace what may be very painful difficulties as opportunities for positive growth and problem solving, while holding sacred the courage and curiosity it takes to embark upon a very personal therapeutic journey. Being a student inevitably includes personal transformation and growth, not to mention stress and the need for problem solving skills! Getting support, be it brief in nature, or for longer-term emotional regulation, can be invaluable during times of such transition. I offer particular expertise in such areas as: treatment for anxiety, depression, trauma recovery, healing from past abuse/victimization (particularly sexual abuse), and EMDR Therapy, in addition to addressing life transitions, the impacts of social injustice and oppression, and overall stress management and relationship restoration.
A need to always look put-together and strong can be destructive and exhausting. It seems like the harder you try, the harder it gets. The pressure to appear “all good” invalidates the emotions we all experience as human beings. Living in a culture of toxic positivity only reinforces the idea that negative thoughts and feelings are somehow inherently unhealthy. In therapy, outdated notions are challenged and you will not be invalidated for feeling…anything. Many of my clients have internalized beliefs about who they should and shouldn’t be- and most of these beliefs are false. Therapy is a non-judgmental space where you can truly express yourself without fear of being judged or shamed. Many of the clients I work with identify with being anxious, perfectionists who want better relationships. I also work with adults who know or think they may be on the autism spectrum. Overall, therapy can be great tool to get a better grip on life as well as for treating a specific diagnosis.. Whatever your background, your struggles, your ambitions, we will work together. Feeling better is within reach.
Do you feel stuck? Do you feel like you know all the rules and what you are “supposed to do” but somehow can’t get where you want to go? As your therapist, it is my goal to help you feel at home in your mind, body, and heart. I can help deconstruct and shift your “shoulds” into something that feels more authentic and meaningful to you. We also can dig into your past and explore how old coping mechanisms that may have helped at one time are now limiting. I am trained in a myriad of techniques—including mindfulness and EMDR—to gently guide your mind and body back to the present moment to a state of well-being and resiliency. I believe in your innate goodness and will always remind and point this out to you. I cannot tell you what is right/wrong or healthy/unhealthy and I resist being another voice telling you what you are “supposed to do”. My job is to provide a warm and accepting space to not just think and talk but to feel the big emotions. I will ask questions, reflect, and ponder alongside you as we rediscover your inherent wisdom and regain a sense of freedom. My clients tend to be intelligent humans who feel caught in their anxious minds, trauma, or simply desire support in living a more authentic and meaningful life. I work with people suffering from anxiety, perfectionism, life changes and transitions, grief, disordered eating, trauma, panic attacks, binge eating disorder, low self esteem, poor body image, and depression among many more. Let’s connect. I’d love to hear from you. Book a free 20 minute phone consult: https://electra-byers.clientsecure.me
Being in college or graduate school often means navigating big transitions, shifting relationships, academic pressure, identity exploration, and uncertainty about the future. You may look like you’re holding it together on the outside while feeling overwhelmed, anxious, disconnected, or stuck on the inside. My role is not to “fix” you, but to help you reconnect with your own capacity to heal and grow. The coping strategies that helped you survive earlier seasons of life may no longer be serving you. In our work together, we’ll build on your existing strengths while developing new skills that support resilience, emotional regulation, and authentic self-trust. I have experience working in hospitals, schools, and in a university setting, and I specialize in working with survivors of trauma. My trauma-informed approach prioritizes safety and nervous system regulation first. We focus on building your ability to feel grounded and present before engaging in deeper trauma processing, and healing does not require you to relive or recount everything before you’re ready. Starting therapy, especially with a new provider, can feel vulnerable. I aim to create a space that feels steady, collaborative, and respectful of your pace. If you’re considering beginning therapy for the first time or returning after a break, I welcome the opportunity to talk and see if we’re a good fit. I provide teletherapy to clients 18+ across Colorado, and in person sessions in Longmont, CO. Due to a conflict of interest, I am unable to work with current students of the University of Colorado Boulder. Reach out by text, call, or message to schedule a consultation.
Are you a young adult struggling with depression or anxiety? Are you finding it hard to adapt to the academic demands and new social situations of college, and finding yourself feeling lonely, isolated, or overwhelmed? If so, I think I can help you chart a course that will help you feel better, less alone, and more connected. Adapting to life at college and planning for adulthood pose many challenges and leave some young adults feeling adrift and confused. There are many new situations to navigate whether they be how to make friends, how to balance academics with extracurriculars, or how to date and find connection. I have worked with college students and young adults for over 10 years to help them find their path, understand themselves, and deal effectively with their emotional struggles. Together, we will seek to understand what it is that troubles you and develop ways to productively deal with these difficulties. Therapy is, at its core, a relationship built on trust that focuses on helping you gain a better understanding of yourself so that you can better navigate your feelings, challenge your fears, and live a full life. I hope that we can work together to help you find your way.
